Welcome!
I’m a Thai American poet writing at the intersection of faith, justice, and wonder. My poetry has been published in Sojourners, First Things, and The Lent Project, and I am the grateful recipient of Fuller Theological Seminary's 2025 Frederick Buechner Award for Excellence in Writing.
I love investing in other writers! Scroll down to learn more about my workshop Spirit & Scribe, which helps writers to integrate spiritual formation and writing craft. I also co-lead the PAX Fellowship's Writing Cohort.

Spirit & Scribe
Spirit & Scribe is a four-session online workshop that explores the intersection of writing craft and spiritual formation. While there are many books and courses about spiritual practices, and about writing, this workshop meets on the bridge between the two — exploring how our spiritual lives shape our art, and how our writing forms us (and others) spiritually.
Each week participants will be led through corporate prayer, an interactive lesson, reflection exercises, and group discussion. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in mid-week exercises designed to fuse their artistic practices with their spiritual callings. Our hope is that every person would leave with a clearer sense of how to journey with God as a writer.

About the Workshop
Week 1: Purpose — Motivations in Writing
What motivates our writing? Should we create if our motives aren't 100% pure? Is that even possible? We get real about our motivations as writers and consider how God is inviting us to journey with Him.
Week 2: Process — Cultivating an Idea
What does it look like to shepherd an idea from concept to publication? In our second week, we explore what Scripture teaches us about how to cultivate an idea and how to know which ideas are worth pursuing.
Week 3: Prayer — Writing with the Spirit
How does prayer intersect with our writing lives? We will look at how God gives creative ideas through prayer, how prayer shapes those ideas, how art can be a form of prayer and an act of obedience to God.
Week 4: Parable — Forming the Imagination
In our last week, we turn from looking at our own spirituality to consider how our writing craft intersects with our readers' spiritual formation. Jesus gave the masterclass in this; what does it look like for us today?

PAX Fellowship Writing Cohort
What is the PAX Fellowship?
A nine-month fellowship for Christians of color ages 25-45 of virtual sessions that includes teaching, group mentorship, spiritual direction, contemplative practices, and community building for peace and justice.
About the Writing Cohort
The Writing Cohort, co-led by Michael Stalcup and Chanté Griffin, is a community of writers seeking to deepen their spiritual foundations, engage writing as a God-given vocation, and develop their craft, platform, and publishing. It is for writers who want to grow through developing spiritual rhythms, engaging in community, and thoughtfully engaging platform and publication.
Applications for the 2025-2026 cohort are closed. Join the waitlist to be notified first about next year's fellowship.
